Tom Selden founded Transition Energy in 2019, culminating more than 2 decades of experience and education in the Finance and Energy fields into one company and one mission.
As an oil trader with the Chicago Board of Trade in the early 2000s, Tom started researching renewable energy, and realized the tremendous economic and social benefits such resources would have on society. His background was a perfect fit, as investors see energy projects as a distinct 'asset class', and value them like a stock or bond. Tom sharpened his skills while enrolled in a specialized M.B.A. program geared towards renewable energy, and gained valuable experience in the industry at Phoenix Energy Technologies and HelioPower.
Tom's concern about the global environment and resources provides even more motivation, and he is committed to helping Transition Energy's clients achieve their goals of transitioning to the new era of energy.
Chris Albers Managing Member, fed up with inherent issues surrounding companies in the renewable energy sector, Chris joined Transition Energy in 2019.
His formative college years were spent studying structural engineering and the innate desire to learn everything there was to know about the growing world of renewable energy. The years following college, Chris moved into careers in the financial and insurance sectors. It was here that he found a strong desire to help clients and businesses alike with real solutions. His values and strong work ethic is something that makes him stand out and he hopes that comes out with every client he works with.
Jonah Liebes Managing Member, has been working in the solar industry since 2001. With a broad range of diverse roles, Jonah adds a great deal of industry expertise to Transition Energy.
Jonah began his solar career after earning his degree is PV System Design and Installation from San Juan College in New Mexico. With a long track record in his family’s general contracting business and a BA in Environmental Studies from Prescott College, Jonah’s background was a perfect foundation for his activities in renewable energy. In 2002, he joined a growing solar start-up as a Solar Installer and, after 15 years of experience, became President of the company. Jonah's expertise includes Asset Management, Professional Services, Project Development,Energy Storage, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment, & Energy Analytics. Jonah holds a C-46 contractor license and is an Energy Manager (CEM), certified by the Association of Energy Engineers.
